Explore dance in this tactile and rhythm-focused workshop series for individuals who are blind or have low vision.
Created in collaboration with Dr. Cat Burkat, founder of Dance Sees No Limits, this class is designed to provide an opportunity to explore dance and movement in a safe and adaptive environment. We will be vigilant about any sensitivity to sound, balance, and spatial awareness. Dancers will explore with tactile teaching aides such as scarves, balls, and bells. Students will receive clear, concise verbal instruction, as well as hand-over-hand instruction if appropriate/welcome.
This class is designed for individuals 5-12 years old.
Parent/caregiver participation is required.
Dance Exploration is taught by Teaching Artist Maria Tordoff. For more information on the class, please email our Director of Dance Education, Sarah Jacobson:[email protected]
Tuition: Arts for All Wisconsin offers two separate tuition options for participants, based on whether the participant receives funding from a fiscal agency or if costs are paid out of pocket. As you register, you will be prompted to choose the tuition option that works best for your participant.
